What does the Customer Portal do?

The Customer Portal allows your customers to easily view and manage their bookings, make payments and access payment plans as well as place new booking requests online. The portal also allows customers to switch between their favourite venues with ease, without having to leave the portal. This saves them time and makes managing their bookings more convenient


Is the Customer Portal the only way for customers to book now?
No, If you already host the Bookteq booking widget on your website, customers can still book through there as they always would have. If you don’t already have the widget on your website, check out our helpful guide on how to place the widget on your website.

These are some questions your customers might ask you


Why aren’t there any bookings on my profile?
The most common reason customers cannot see their existing bookings on their profile is because they used a different email to login by mistake. Customers must ensure to login using their primary (and not a secondary) address used to make the booking.

You can find the customer email address in the customer view in Bookteq, search for this in the customer table.


Why can’t I make a payment?

The four most likely reasons why customers cannot make a payment are;

  • The venue has not sent an invoice yet.

  • It’s already paid for

  • They cancelled the booking

  • The booking is free.

You can check the payment status and advise the customer - this is through the bookings table where you can see price and payment statuses.

Why can’t I cancel my booking?

If a customer cannot cancel a booking, it could be that your cancellation policy does not allow certain cancellations within the cancellation window (e.g. you may need 7 days notice for any cancellations). If you need to cancel the booking on their behalf, you can do so as usual, either through the bookings table or calendar view.


I forgot my password, how can I reset it?

Customers who forgot their passwords can reset their passwords using the password reset prompt at login, or using this link.
