Follow this step-by-step guide to refund or partially refund customers for single or block bookings.
With the Bookteq system you are able to issue refunds and partial refunds to your customers via your workspace. Follow the step-by-step guide below to learn how to do so.
Step-by-Step Guide: Refunds
- Log in to your Bookteq workspace: Go to your work space and log in using your credentials.
- Click the Bookings tab: Once you are logged in, click on the "Bookings" tab on the left hand side. This will display a list of your previous bookings.
- Select the booking for the refund: Locate the specific booking you would like to refund by using the search bar and click on it to access the details of that order.
- Click the “Payments” tab: Within the booking details, you will find a tab labelled "Payments” under the order number. Click on this tab to proceed with the refund process.
- Click the “Refund” button: Click Refund under “actions” on the right hand side. A pop up will come up asking you to confirm the refund. You should press “Yes, confirm refund”.

Step-by-Step Guide: Partial Refunds
- Log in to your Bookteq workspace: Go to your workspace and log in using your credentials.
- Click the Bookings tab: Once you are logged in, click on the "Bookings" tab on the left hand side. This will display a list of your previous bookings.
- Select the booking(s) for the partial refund: Locate the specific booking(s) you would like to refund by using the search bar and click on it to access the details of that order.
- Click the Partial refund button: As seen highlighted in the yellow box in the image below, you can click the partial refund button.
- Confirm the partial refund: Once you have pressed this button, you should press “Yes, refund it”.

Troubleshooting
Q: How long will it take for the customer to receive their refund?
A: As per Stripe’s process, refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days after the request is initiated. However, the exact time it takes for the refund to appear in your customer's account depends on their bank or card issuer.
Q: Will refunding the booking cancel the booking?
A: Refunding the booking will not automatically change the booking status to cancelled but you can cancel the booking very easily. Similarly, cancelling a booking will not automatically result in a refund being issued to the customer.
