The different colours on the calendar are used to differentiate between types of bookings and reservations.
See below for a key:

Blue - both Single bookings and Multi bookings are shown in blue on the calendar view

Pink - both Single and Multi Reservations are shown in pink

Green - Custom event e.g. pitch maintenance, tournament etc

Grey - Blocked facility i.e. preventing facilities from being booked due to pitch maintenance etc
If you have used the Shared facilities function, this allows you to ensure that once bookings are inputted, other bookings are prevented from being placed in the same space e.g. sports hall or football pitch. Where a slot is unavailable because of another booking, these spaces and facilities will appear in grey on the calendar to prevent a space being double-booked.
