What's the difference between a booking and an order? And how do I access them?

This article explains the difference between a booking and an order on the Bookteq Customer Portal. It also shows you how to access bookings and orders on the Customer Portal.

Overview

A booking refers to a single occurrence of something you have reserved or scheduled, such as a specific time slot for a sports facility. Each booking has its own unique reference number and appears as an individual entry in the bookings table.

On the other hand, an order can consist of multiple bookings that are placed together. For example, if you make a block booking for several consecutive time slots or if the venue renews your booking for a set period, these bookings will be grouped under the same order. In such cases, the first part of the reference number before the '-' will be the same for all the linked bookings within that order.

How to access bookings and orders

To access your bookings and orders on the Bookteq customer portal, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Bookteq customer portal: Go to my.bookteq.com. Enter your login credentials to access your account.

  2. Navigate to the bookings table: Once you are logged in, you will see a bookings table that provides a list of all your individual bookings. This table gives you an overview of your scheduled events.

  3. View a specific booking: To access the details of a particular booking, simply click on it within the bookings table. This will open the order view, which displays information related to that booking. It's important to note that the order view may show linked bookings if they were placed together as part of an order (e.g. block booking, renewal, set of fixtures).

By following these steps, you can easily access and view your individual bookings as well as any associated orders on the Bookteq customer portal.

Troubleshooting

Q: Why do some bookings have different reference numbers while others have the same first part of the reference number?

A: Bookings placed separately will have different reference numbers since they are treated as individual occurrences. However, when multiple bookings are placed together as part of an order, they are linked and share the same initial reference number. This grouping helps to streamline the management of related bookings.
